Landscaping:
10 Things You Must Know: Landscaping
1. It's not finished without an edge. It's very important to have barriers between your lawn and your garden. You want to have a strong edging; it can be of any material (and price) from cheap plastic all the way up to steel or stone.
2. Take the hard work out of irrigation. A big mistake people make when they install a garden: thinking they can go out once or twice every other week and just hose it down for a few minutes, and that's enough water for the plants. It's really not. It's recommended that you get a simple drip irrigation system. It can be attached to a water faucet with a timer; simply set the timer, and it gives the plants all the water they need.
3. There's more to mulch than meets the eye. Mulch is primarily used to help maintain the soil, but it's also decorative. The darker the mulch, the more your plant colors will stand out.
4. Your plants are only as good as the soil they live in. If the roots of a plant can't penetrate the soil, then it simply won't grow. If your soil is really horrible, you may need to remove it and bring in new soil.
5. A good landscape always has an odd stagger. Try to group things in threes or fives as a general rule. This way, from a distance it will always look full.idea to get a variety of colors that you know will bloom at different times of the year.

Craft Corner:
How to make a Jumping Paper Clip
1. Unfold the outermost side of the paper clip to form a 45 degree angle.
2. Unfold the opposite side of the paper clip to 45 degrees in relation to the longest side. You're forming a triangle
3. Unfold the last (shortest) side so that it is parallel to the adjacent side of the triangle.
4. Bend the parallel sides away from each other. This is how you create the tension necessary to launch the paper clip.
5. Carefully bring them back together without "unbending" any of the tension you created in the previous step. Overlap them so that they are leaning against each other, held together by the tension. They should be as parallel as possible. This can be somewhat tricky.
6. Carefully take the paper clip and set upright on a flat solid surface. The side of the triangle that's on the surface should not be the one with the ends. Pull your hand away quickly as the triangle falls on its side and launches into the air.

Humor:
The Magician and the Parrot
There was magician on a cruise ship, and he was really good.
He was performing the highlight of his show when a parrot walked onstage and squawked, ''It's in his sleeve!''
The magician chased the bird away.
The next day the magician was performing his highlight again (in front of a smaller audience) when the parrot walked onstage and declared, ''It's in his pocket!''
The next day, as he was performing the highlight, he saw the parrot in the crowd. But before the parrot could ruin the magic trick, the boat crashed into a rock and sank.
The magician was lucky enough to find a board to hang on to. On the other end of the board was the parrot.
They stared at each other for three full days, neither of them saying anything, when suddenly the parrot said, ''I give up, what'd you do with the ship?''
